Senior Center Information
Address
The Senior Center is located inside the Davis Memorial Center building at 1901 S. Broadway, Oak Grove, MO 64075.
Description
The Senior Center is open between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm on weekdays. There are two billiards tables to enjoy, a TV to watch and socialize with friends, several books to read, many puzzles to put together, and a treadmill to walk on. During special times of the month, there are craft activities, friendly games of bingo, and a piano to play if you have the skills. Then a couple of times each year, our seniors go on a field trip to local destinations.
Lunch is served!
The main event is the FOOD, of course! Every weekday, lunch is served at 12:00 pm. Anyone is welcome to eat as long as you call at least one day in advance to reserve your meal. The cost is $2.00 for people age 60 and over. For anyone 59 and younger, the cost is $6.75.
Home-Delivered Meals
The Oak Grove Senior Center does deliver meals to those that are in need. These meals are delivered weekdays around the lunch hour by our volunteers. In order to start receiving these meals, you must meet certain criteria as set by Mid-America Regional Council (MARC). To begin the process of receiving home-delivered meals, please call the information and referral line at 816-421-4980. A brief screening will be given over the phone to determine initial eligibility. If found to be eligible, a home assessment is the next step in the process.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Senior Center needs you! There are many opportunities to volunteer with us. If you are a licensed driver, please consider donating a portion of your day to deliver meals to the wonderful people in the Home-Delivered Meal program. If you cannot drive but would still like to volunteer, please give us a call or stop by!
