Duties Of The City Clerk’s Office
- Assists outside auditors with annual audit in regard to City Council, boards, payroll and personnel matters.
- Coordinates the printing and mailing of City publications.
- Issues permits or licenses for buildings, utilities, for garage / estate / moving sales, fireworks exhibitions, alarm registration, pet registration, etc.
- Maintains a calendar of all city activities and meetings.
- Maintains city personnel records.
- Maintains custody of ordinances, official documents, and the city seal.
- Maintains official city records, ordinances, resolutions and other documents.
- Orders and purchases all supplies for city Hall.
- Prepares meeting packets, serves as secretary, prepares status reports, and maintains records of meetings of the Board of Alderman.
- Prepares resolutions and ordinances as directed by the Mayor or Board of Alderman.
- Provides citizen assistance by fielding questions, concerns and complaints from general public.
- Provides proper notice of all meetings of the City Council and other City boards.
- Serves as notary public of the State of Missouri.
