Election Information
Overview
On December 4, 2006 the Board of Alderman called for an election to be held on April 3, 2007 during the City of Oak Grove’s Regular Session public meeting.

 

Civic participation is highly encouraged for this important event!  If you are interested in becoming a community leader for Alderman First Ward, Second Ward or Third Ward which are all two (2) year terms please note the following requirements:

  • Candidacy declaration begins no earlier than Dec. 12, 2006 after 8:00 a.m.
  • Candidacy declaration deadline is Jan. 16, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.
  • You must file for elected office in person at City Hall, 1300 South Broadway, Oak Grove MO 64075.  Please do not submit completed online forms via email or postal mail.
  • Must be a registered voter of the county in which you are filing.
  • All city taxes and user fees must be current and paid in full at time of filing.
  • Make available current driver’s license, voter registration card and paid tax receipts to City Clerk upon filing.
  • Must meet Alderman qualification requirements (see sidebar)

Qualifications
Below are the requirements to run for Board of Alderman as set forth in Section 110.010 of the municipal code:
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • A citizen of the United States.
  • An inhabitant and resident of the City for one (1) year next preceding his/her election
  • A resident, at the time he / she files and during the time he / she serves, of the ward from which he / she is elected.

Note: that all above requirements are strictly enforced.
