Tai Chi For the Whole Body - Mondays, January 25th - April 5th at 7:00 pm

This oriental martial art is practiced as a slow-moving exercise designed to increase flexibility, internal energy and spirit, circulation and reduce stress. This class is great for those with arthritis or other illnesses affecting muscles, joints or balance but is also beneficial for those without illnesses or arthritis. 

Zumba Class - Tuesdays, February 9th - March 16th at 6:30 pm
Zumba is an aerobics class with a Latin accent. It is THE new and hottest thing sweeping the nation! Zumba is a name derived from a Colombian word meaning "to move fast and have fun." That is exactly what this class is about. You'll dance to music and not even realize that you're working out at the same time! Zumba has been reported to burn a sizzling 450 calories per hour! Along with the aerobic workout, you'll also work on strengthening your core muscles. This will be a six week class and run for one hour per night. Please register in advance.


Father Daughter DanceFather/Daughter Dance - Saturday, February 20th at 7:00 pm

Dad, bring your little girl(s) up to the Civic Center for a night you will never forget. You

can dance the night away, enjoy refreshments, and have your picture taken together!

Be sure to dress up.  Please pre-register for the dance by Friday, February 12th. 



Becoming a Love and Logic Parent® Class - Mondays, February 22nd - March 29th at 6:30 pm
This class is a seven week parenting program designed by Love and Logic®.  Debbie Laemmli is the instructor and she will help give you practical skills that can be used immediately in your home.  The class answers questions such as, "How do I get them out of bed in time to catch the school bus?", "How can I stop my children from fighting?", "How can I get my teenage daughter to come home at the agreed upon time?" and many more. Please call ahead to register for this class.

Wii Bowling Tournament - Saturday, February 27th at 2:00 pm
This year we are joining in on the Wii-craze!  This tournament will use the Wii Sports - Bowling game.  All ages are welcome to participate.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners.  Wii-motes will be provided for tournament use.  Please call to register ahead of time.  Remember, no previous bowling skill required!

Spring Coed SoftballSpring Coed Softball League - Sunday nights April 11th at 6:00 pm

This league is a slow-pitch recreational league for people 18 and over.  All games will be played under current USSSA rules and are officiated by USSSA qualified umpires.  There is a maximum of 12 people allowed on a roster.  Please make sure to pay and register your team at the same time to be guaranteed a spot.

Puppy Obedience Class - Wednesdays, March 17th - April 21st at 7:30 pm
Is there a new puppy in your home that you want to start training right away?  This class will help you out!  Puppy class is for dogs from 8 weeks old to 5 months old.  The dogs will learn to socialize with others and get a head start on their basic obedience training.  Please make sure to have your dog up to date on vaccinations.

Basic Dog Obedience - Wednesdays beginning May 12th at 7:30 pmDog Obedience

Does your dog need to learn to behave properly or sit on command? In this class, your dog will learn the commands for sit, sit-stay, come, attention, down, down-stay, stand and heel. Dogs must be at least 5 months of age in order to participate and must have a collar and a 4’ or 6’ long leash. This class is a one hour class and runs for 7 weeks.

Parents Night Out - May 21st, June 25th and July 30th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Parents, do you need a couple of hours away from your loving children? Or do you just want a chance to have some alone time? Then bring your kids (ages 3 – 12) to “Parents Night Out” provided by the Parks and Recreation Department. We will have qualified workers ready to supervise your children for three whole hours while you can do whatever your heart desires. 

Younger Division Tennis Camp - June 14th - 17th at 9:00 am - 10:00 am
This camp is for kids ages 6 - 10.  We will concentrate on teaching the basic skils of the game as well as proper form.  Campers will receive a t-shirt and a sleeve of tennis balls for attending the camp.

Tennis CampOlder Division Tennis Camp - June 14th - 17th at 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

This camp is for kids ages 11 - 16 years old.  We will review the basic skills of the game and then work on the harder aspects such as serving and the actual playing of games.  Campers will receive a t-shirt and a sleeve of tennis balls for attending the camp.


Celebrate Freedom and the 4th of July Fireworks - July 4th at 5:00 pm

Come celebrate our nation's birthday with several children's games, vendor booths, inflatables, music, entertainment and fireworks out at Webb Park!  The Parks Department is working alongside New Life Assembly of God and the Chamber of Commerce to bring this wonderful celebration to our community.  Your family won't want to miss this one!

Adult Men’s Softball League - Tuesdays beginning August 10th at 6:30 Men Softballpm

This is a slow-pitch recreational softball league that is for people 18 and over. The league is a guaranteed double header league so there are only eight team spots available. Make sure to sign your team up early!   Please submit your payment with your roster in order to be officially registered.

Fall Adult Coed Softball League - Thursdays starting August 12th at 6:30 pm
This league is a slow-pitch recreational league for people 18 and over.  All games will be played under current USSSA rules and are officiated by USSSA qualified umpires.  There is a maximum of 12 people allowed on a roster.  Please make sure to pay and register your team at the same time to be guaranteed a spot.

Doggie Day at the PoolDoggie Day at the Pool - Saturday, September 11th at 2:00 pm
Does your dog(s) like to swim? Then bring him or her out to the community pool for a special day of swimming for our four legged friends. We do ask that you remain at the pool for the entire time that your dog(s) is there. All dogs must also be current on vaccinations and have a collar and leash to and from the pool.

Coed Sand Volleyball Leagues (Summer and Fall) - Sundays beginning June 13th and SeptemberSand Volleyball 12th at 3:30 pm

Guys and girls, get your teams together for some Sunday afternoon fun! Come out to the sand volleyball courts at Webb Park and play some recreational games with your friends. There are six players on a team with 3 guys and 3 girls (2 girls minimum at all times). Parents, there is a playground area next to the courts so bring your children out with you for some playtime. 

THE SHOWTIME- Saturday, September 18th starting at 12:00 pm
Do you play in a band?  Do you enjoy listening to music?  Then THE SHOWTIME is for you!  Your band will have the chance to play in front of a live audience and get your name out in the public eye.  So start working on your routines and your songs and get ready for this annual event.  Watch for more details as they become available.  You MUST pre-register by Friday, September 10th.

Family Fright NightFamily Fright Night - Saturday, October 30th at 6:30 pm

Come up to the Civic Center on Saturday for some safe Halloween fun!  We will have several booths with activities to participate in, prizes to win and a special costume contest.  Kids make sure to wear your costume!

 

Dear Santa….. - November 29th - December 8th

He’s making his list and he’s checking it twice, but he’s waiting to hear from you!  Starting on November 29th, put your Christmas wishes in writing and drop a self-addressed, stamped envelope and letter to Santa in our special mailbox located in front of the Civic Center to receive a special note directly from St. Nick. 

Holiday HomesHoliday Homes Lighting Contest - Monday, December 13th
Do you decorate your home at Christmas time?  Then why not enter in our holiday homes lighting contest?  It's free of charge and the top four homes will win a sign to display in their yard saying that they have one of the top decorated homes in the city.  Please have your home registered by 4:30 pm Monday, December 13th.
