Duties of the City Clerk’s office:

 

  • Maintains official City records, ordinances, resolutions and other documents;
  • Prepares meeting packets, serves as secretary, prepares status reports, and maintains records of meetings of the Board of Alderman;
  • Prepares resolutions and ordinances as directed by the Mayor or Board of Alderman;
  • Maintains a calendar of all City activities and meetings;
  • Provides proper notice of all meetings of the City Council and other City boards;
  • Issues permits or licenses for buildings, utilities, for garage/estate/moving sales, fireworks exhibitions, alarm registration, pet registration, etc.;
  • Maintains custody of ordinances, official documents, and the City seal;
  • Maintains City personnel records;
  • Assists outside auditors with annual audit in regard to City Council, boards, payroll and personnel matters;
  • Serves as notary public of the State of Missouri;
  • Provides citizen assistance by fielding questions, concerns and complaints from general public;
  • Orders and purchases all supplies for City Hall;
  • Coordinates the printing and mailing of City publications.
