Duties of the City Clerkâs office:
- Maintains official City records, ordinances, resolutions
and other documents;
- Prepares meeting packets, serves as secretary, prepares
status reports, and maintains records of meetings of the Board of
Alderman;
- Prepares resolutions and ordinances as directed by the
Mayor or Board of Alderman;
- Maintains a calendar of all City activities and
meetings;
- Provides proper notice of all meetings of the City
Council and other City boards;
- Issues permits or licenses for buildings, utilities, for
garage/estate/moving sales, fireworks exhibitions, alarm registration,
pet registration, etc.;
- Maintains custody of ordinances, official documents, and
the City seal;
- Maintains City personnel records;
- Assists outside auditors with annual audit in regard to
City Council, boards, payroll and personnel matters;
- Serves as notary public of the State of Missouri;
- Provides citizen assistance by fielding questions,
concerns and complaints from general public;
- Orders and purchases all supplies for City Hall;
- Coordinates the printing and mailing of City
publications.
