Setting Up New Water/Sewer Utility Service
All new residents must apply in person for new water/sewer utility service. This can be done at City Hall, located at 2110 S Broadway, Oak Grove, Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. during regular business hours. We will need to see identification (driver's license) and collect the $100 deposit to open your account. Deposits are required and are held on your account until the final bill is paid.
Paying Your Utility Bill
You can pay your water/sewer utility bill at City Hall during normal business hours with cash, check, money order, debit or credit card. We now accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover so you can call in to make a payment or go online and make the payment with Xpress Bill Pay. This can also be set up as an auto-pay method. Whenever you pay with Xpress Bill Pay there is a 2.8 percent convenience fee that is applied and paid directly to the credit card processor at the time of the transaction. The City of Oak Grove does not receive any of these monies from the convenience fee. We also have a drop box on the south side of the building which can be used after hours payments.
Utility Billing and Collection Procedures
Water meters are read around the 28th of each month. All water bills are mailed on the 15th of the month and are due on the 10th of the following month to avoid a 10 percent penalty assessed to the account. Payment of any past due amount is required before the 20th of each month to avoid disconnect on the 21st. If your account has been disconnected, you will be required to pay the past due amount, the current amount due and a $25 reconnect fee before your water service can be reconnected. If you have been disconnected, we can not accept checks as a form of payment, only cash, money order, debit or credit card.
Emergency Service, such as service disruption due to a water line break in the City’s system, is provided after hours by calling 816-215-9890.
